How to look after yourself?

If you are engaging in self-injury, or have thought about self-injury, or if you have a friend who has engaged in self-injury it is important for you to seek help by talking to an adult you know and trust, such as a parent, teacher, or the school counsellor. If you find it hard to seek help from an adult in your life, you can contact Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800), Youth Beyondblue (1300 22 4636), Lifeline (13 11 14), or SuicideLine (1300 651 251), and talk confidentially to a trained counsellor. If you have injured yourself severely and believe that your injuries require medical attention or are life-threatening, call 000 immediately, or contact your local emergency department or healthcare service.
